TERM ASSURANCE

TERM LIFE INSURANCE EXPLAINED

Term Assurance has a fixed duration cut-off point on the cover period. Once expired, the policy title-holder needs to decide either to renew the term life insurance policy or let the cover end. In contrast, Permanent Life Insurance duration extends until the policy title-holder reaches 100 years of age (i.e. demise). Term Life insurance policies grant a stated benefit upon demise of the policy title-holder, provided the death occurs within a definite time period. The policy does not provide any income beyond the assured benefit not like permanent life insurance policies which have a savings element that can be used for wealth accrual.

TERM ASSURANCE INFORMATION

Those interested in Pension Term Assurance (PTA) will be disappointed. As of 06/12/06, PTA’s will no longer be underwritten in the UK following a review by the Government. The UK Treasury was not satisfied with P Term Assurance products. PTA, previously a very popular form of life assurance attracting tax relief on premiums, made PTA an ecomomical way of buying a form of Term Life Insurance. Existing policies will operate under the old rules. Consumers may have assumed that PTA’s were somehow linked to part of a  pension, however this was not the case.

Difference Between Term and Whole Life Insurance

Lots of us at some point in our lives will take out Life cover insurance of one kind or another. The are a bewildering number of Life Insurance policies on offer, each offering different and slightly different Life cover schemes from the other. So what is the difference between term and whole life insurance? Too explain two of the most common factors that will determine a person’s choice of life Insurance are Cost Return.

Cost:
Cost can be regarded as the Cost of Life Cover Premium (what we will pay each month for continued Life Insurance Cover).

Return:
Return is what the life insurance policy will payout to the policy holders designated beneficiaries in the event of the holders death and or what the life policy will payout in a cash lump sum to ourselves should we reach retirement.

Life Insurance Cover:
Many People will be looking for the kind of Life Policy that pays at retirement and in the event of their Death this form of Life Cover is generally known as Universal Life Insurance or Whole life insurance although the are a number of other forms of life cover that offer similar schemes. Premiums for Whole Life Policies are generally high
And in nearly all cases much higher than Term Life Insurance Premiums.

Term Life Insurance Cover:
Most people will certainly look for the cheapest form of Life assurance policyAnd Term Life Insurance or as it is commonly known a Whole Term Life PolicyIs definitely the cheapest form of life cover available? Term assurance policies only payout on the Death of the Term Policy Holder. And as with Universal Life Policies The lump sum paid to the term policyholder family can be substantial. So If you are looking for a cheaper form of Life Cover Policy that will give you the peace of mind that your family and loved ones will be looked after financially then Term Life cover maybe the option for you.

So to sum up the difference between term and whole life insurance is that premium payment are generally much lower for Term Life Insurance than Life Insurance although Life assurance cover will often offer a cash lump payment to the policy holder at retirement. Both forms of Life assurance will cover the policy holder in the event of their Death.
